QuestionI strongly beleive I am suffering from this condition. When I told my doctor about my severe pain in my groin, pelvis and lower back and not being able to walk, get dressed or turn over in bed without crying in pain, he told me from 5 feet away, that couldn't be the case since that is a rare condition. My question is, how dangerous is it to give birth vaginally? My doctor plans on a routine delivery for me. By the way, I am 32 weeks pregnant with my second child. My first is 16 years old.
AnswerHello,
First I want to say that just because it's rare, does NOT mean it can't be whats happening to you. Rare means there ARE cases, they just aren't overflowing in medical journals.
You CAN give birth vaginally as the condition in and of itself is not dangerous. A normal birth is absolutly possible if you prepare, and your close. SPD is not a reason for a c/section. I do recommend that you pick up and wear a good pelvic girdle or belly band that helps to lift the lower segment of your uterus a bit and support the pressure.
Your very close to birth, but consider consulting a chiropractor as well.
I would consult with another doctor if you can. Not feeling heard or supported by your caregiver is a big deal.
