Tailbone Fracture & Labor: Risks, Pain & Delivery Positions During Pregnancy
QuestionI am 8 mths pregnat and fractured my tailbone, can this cause problems during labor and delivery, should i consider a c-section ?? will it be more painfull to deliver with a fractured tailbone ??
AnswerA fractured tailbone normally does not interfere with vaginal birth, however, it will influence how you give birth. I recommend giving birth on your hands and knees- NOT YOUR BACK. Please discuss these positions with your doctor/midwife so the hospital or birthing center will be prepared to help you give birth on your hands and knees rather than your back.
Please let me know if I can help you further or with anything else.
Best wishes,
Helen =)
