QuestionHello-
I just found out that I am pregnant again, I just gave birth on Aug.2009. Only less then 11mos. It was my second c.section.
Is this too soon to get prgnant and have a safe vback this time?
I am very concered.
My 1st baby over 7 years ago was not a planned c-section. I was in labor for 2 days. what do you think?
AnswerIf you are interested in a VBAC, you need to talk to a midwife or doctor who is supportive of VBAC birth and find out if they support VBAC at 11 months. I can't find any studies that show that the risk of complications increases if it's less than a year between births, although some doctors and midwives are not comfortable with an attempted VBAC if there is less than 18-24 months between births.
Talk to your care provider and see what your options are. If you have a strong desire to attempt a VBAC, ask your local ICAN group what doctors or midwives are the most supportive of VBAC and talk to those doctors/midwives.
I wish you the best with your pregnancy and birth!
