hello Debbie,

i had asked a question regarding pregnancy and i got a good reply for that. now i have another doubt regarding home preganancy test, hope u will give a good reply for that too.
my first day of last periods was 08-02-2007. today is 10th and priods didnt come yet. how many days do i have to wait to know that I am pregnant or not. my cycle is 28 and 29. some  months 28 and some mnths 29. thanx ion advance.

Hello,
  Remember, these are estimates ONLY and not absoulte dates.  If your last period was Feb. 2, the estimated date of conception would have been AROUND Feb. 22.

If pregnancy did occur around then, HCG, the pregnancy hormone would be building up in you body.

A very sensitive blood test can pick up HCG around 8 days of pregnancy or at 20 mIU (the unit they measure with)

A home test typicaly begins to pick up the hormone at around 100 mIU or around two weeks after conception so if you were pregnant you may be able to have a accurate test.

use first morning urine, as this sample contains the most concentrated amount of hCG.

E.P.T, states their test can pick up the hormone level at 40, ClearBlue Easy states their test can detect the hormone level at 50.

First Response and Answer say they detect at 100.

Hope that helps.  If you take the test and it's negative, your probably not pregnant, but you can wait a week and take another to be certain.
