Understanding Delayed Water Breaking During Labor: Causes & Experiences

Question
I would like to know on all my children (3) my water never broke by it self the doctors had to break it? My 1st child was in labor 2 days. My 2nd Was 8 hours. I also took castrol oil cause the doctor was going on vacation he said to take that. My 3rd I was in labor 6.5 hours then the doctor broke my water.

Answer
Hello,
I apologize!  I was sure I had answered this!

If your water didn't break with all 3, it's possible it won't for the next.  It's not unusual!  You water does not have to break, but if a labor is slow, it can sometimes help to move things along. You seem to already have had two fast labors!   If left alone, many womens water will break in late active labor to the pushing phase.

I have seen a baby born "in caul" or in the sac, they simply take it off the baby and there is no danger.

I hope that answered your question?  It was a little confusing, but I think that is what you were asking.
