Postpartum Bloating After C-Section: What's Normal?
QuestionI had a c-section in April 07 to a beautiful baby boy..I had no complications during pregnancy other they said he was gonna weight 10.2 lbs but he weighed 9lbs 3.3 oz which was close. anyways my stomach feel bloated or bigger than it should be. which it may just be normal but im a 22 yr old worrier. what i was wanting to know is it still normal for your stomach to still be swelled or bloated feeling 3 months after a c-section.
AnswerYou may want to get this checked out by a doctor because it could be a sign of infection or improper healing. I recommend calling your doctor's office and scheduling an appointment just so he/she can make sure everything is still healing the way it should be.
I will note, however, that I had an emergency c-section with my son. 6 years later, the spot where the incision was STILL hurts from time to time. After he was born, I was still feeling pain and bloating a year afterward. C-sections can take a long time to heal, and all you can do is take it easy and wait.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!
Best wishes,
Helen =)
