ANSWER: Hello, kanna,
To begin with, having an abortion is not normal. Anything that happens afterwards wouldn't be considered normal, either. But what you are describing is common. There is always a chance you were injured by the abortion. In fact, it is almost a given. They HAVE to hurt you to do an abortion. Abortion disrupts your hormones, and for this reason, nobody knows how your body will heal. Did you ask the person who did the abortion on you? It is important to ask someone else. A person who does abortions won't want to admit she hurt you. If she were willing to admit it, she wouldn't be doing abortions in the first place.
This doesn't mean that you aren't having your period. You might be. But you are obviously experiencing abnormal bleeding, because by now, it should have stopped.
I recommend you find another doctor and have him or her examine you carefully and make sure there isn't a serious injury that needs to be treated. If there isn't, you will be reassured. However, you still face some dangers. This will cause you to experience a high risk pregnancy in the future, when you want a child. There are several things that can go wrong. One is tubal pregnancy. If this happens, you will experience pain early in pregnancy. If the pain suddenly stops, you need emergency surgery to save your life. But if you still have the pain, don't wait. Have it checked out right away. Another problem you may face will be miscarriage or very early birth. Very early birth can cause some serious birth defects, so you will need to ask the doctor to help make sure this doesn't happen. The remedy is for him to fasten your cervix shut until time of birth. You may also experience some problems at the time of birth. The major ones are placenta previa and prolonged labor. Both may require that you have a Caesarian section. So please make sure you get good care from a doctor during your pregnancy. The final thing you need to know is that you are much more prone to get breast cancer now. If this was your first pregnancy, your risk is greater. If you have breast cancer in your immediate family, it is almost certain you will get it. Please see if you can find someone who will give you regular thermograms. Don't go for mammograms. Also, please make sure that you have enough Vitamin D3 in your diet, or that you spend time in the sun, and expose your skin, without any ointments or lotions on it. After you do, don't wash right away; let the Vitamin D that the sun made for you, soak into your skin. If you have darker skin, you will need to be in the sun longer. There are supplements you can take as well, that will help. Find an herbalist and ask him for help, or do some research on the internet.
Please take care of yourself. Don't take these kinds of chances again. Abortion is dangerous. Stay safe!

QUESTION: i had Transvaginal ultrasound on 6th march 2010 as soon as i had started bleeding, after Transvaginal ultrasound they told me every thing is normal need not worry..but as my bleeding is continued i am not able to know whether is it normal or not.can you help me in this...
thank you for the reply to my before question..thanks a lot
ANSWER: Hello, kanna,
When they told you everything is normal, I suspect they meant the abortion was successful. It will take time for your body to return to a regular cycle. In my opinion, it's not normal until it does. I have stricter criteria than abortionists. I don't want women to get hurt, and abortionists hurt women. They accept the fact that they are doing this, and deny they're really hurting women. They expect abnormal bleeding, so they'll call it normal because they expect it. So for them to say that everything is normal means that you aren't showing any signs of serious injury, or if you are, they're not going to admit it. If you want to know what kind of "games" they may be playing by telling you it's normal when you know good and well a period shouldn't last 8 days, you can certainly ask them. Ask them if they really mean that the bleeding is expected or common. I wouldn't accept the idea that it's "normal". That's just how I see it.
After an abortion, prolonged bleeding is common. As long as the bleeding is slight, and not heavy, you'll just have to be patient with your body. If your bleeding is heavy, that's another matter. That is dangerous. If that starts to happen, or if it's happening now, one thing that may help is to eat very spicy food that has cayenne (red hot peppers) in it. But you should see a doctor right away. Go to someone else. Don't go to the people who provided the abortion.
Let me know how you do, and feel free to write back any time. Take care. And you're welcome.

QUESTION: its more than 6 months that i had surgical termination of pregnancy still iam bleeding for 15days,i used YASMIN (drospirenone & ethinyl estradiol)and FEMILON (Desogestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol)but still iam getting period for 15days and now we are planning to conceive as i recently came to know that my husband has hodgkin's lymphoma,so planning to conceive.so kindly let me know when can i conceive..
AnswerHello, kanna,
Obviously, something is still wrong. You won't be able to conceive as long as you are using drugs like Yasmin and Femilon. These are also bad for your body, and could be making the bleeding worse.
So the first thing you need to do is stop taking any hormones.
If the bleeding continues to be prolonged, like I said, you need to have a doctor look for injury from your abortion. Bleeding that much after a surgical abortion is not common. I can't tell you over the internet when you can conceive. Neither can anyone else. And nobody will be able to tell you in person, either. You will only conceive when it happens. If you stop taking the drugs, you can see if you observe fertile mucus. It is possible to conceive when you have fertile mucus. This is something you observe when you wipe, and it is transparent and slippery, and stretches like a raw egg white. You can learn more by going to this web site:
http://www.fertilityuk.org/
If your abortion caused scar tissue to form over the openings of both Fallopian tubes, then you will be unable to conceive at all. If it doesn't completely cover them, you could have a tubal pregnancy.
You need to be talking to a doctor about these problems.
As for Hodgkin's lymphoma, I recommend your husband not use conventional treatments. He should seek natural alternatives. This disease, like a lot of others, may well be curable through natural means. If you would like more information and some links, let me know, and I will find out for you. Please take care.
