Breast Mass Concerns: Seeking Clarity After Mammogram & Ultrasound
QuestionI am 35 yrs old. I felt pain in my left breast and went to my doctor. He said he felt a mass in my both breast and referred me to specialist. I did the mammogram and they said they don't see anything. But they suggest ultra sound which I did same day and the specialist took as many picture as she could and took it to the doctor. The doctor was not sure what he saw in my left breast and he came and examine my breast and saw the ultra sound for himself. But still he can not tell exactly what is in there(which he mentioned he do not see any serious thing in there) and he said they need a biopsy sample. I take my appointment for next week but my heart tells me I don't need to go. What if the biopsy trigger something or the cancer? Pls Pls help....
AnswerA biopsy - especially a thin needle aspiration biopsy, if that is what will be done which seems at least probable - does NOT trigger ANY cancer or ANYTHING else! This is done in order to MAKE SURE what it is you do have, so I strongly suggest that you SHOULD have it done as it is in your own best interest to do so! Good luck!
