Understanding Elevated Pus Cells in Urinalysis: Causes & Next Steps
Questiongood day, i am a 34 years old man from bronx new york suffering from lower and middle back pain i submit myself for an executive check up last week and here are some of the result of my laboratory examination particularly my urinalysis which i have a PUS CELL: 3-4 /hpf and RBC: 0-3 /hpf readings,,, after furnishing me my laboratory test result they advise me to consult with a Gen. practitioner regarding review of the system. because as what they have said i might have a problem because its not normal to have a BC:0-3 /hp i would like to ask you if its true that i might have a problem? and what problem or illness it might be? and what medication should i take?

Pus and blood in the urine usually indicates and infection somewhere in the Urinary tract. Where that is exactly will be what your primary care provider will figure out. I would certainly follow up. The causes of this finding in a screening urinalysis is varied and without a history and physical exam, too complex an issue to discuss in this forum.
