Plateau Busting: Why Your Weight Loss May Have Stopped (and What to Do)
QuestionI am on a 1600 calorie "lifestyle change"- I get in my 64 or or more oz's of water a day, I exercise 6 days a week with both strength training and now HIIT cardio(just started that three days ago). I came to the 1600 calorie by doing the math on what I weighed versus what I want to lose. I started February 5th. I have lost 12 pounds to date. I weigh weekly. This week I have not lost any weight.. what is the reasoning for that when I am counting every calorie and do so much exercise? what am I missing?
AnswerDear Patricia, You have simply hit a plateau. These plateau's can last up to two weeks. Continue your program, and you will start losing soon. As you lose weight, your body has to adjust to it's lower metabolism. Lower body weight means lower metabolism. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
