Delaying Your Period: Skipping Inactive Pills - What You Need to Know
QuestionHi! My boyfriend and I have recently had to do a long distance relationship so we don't get to see each other often enough. I will be seeing him next weekend (the 15th) for the first time in about 3 months. I will be on my period during that time, as I start the inactive pills on Sunday (the 9th). Can I skip the inactive pills and go straight to another pack to delay my period? Then when that pack is done I will get to the inactive pills and go with that, which will move my period to a week earlier than normally. I was wondering if this was safe for me and would still be effective? I know this is short notice, but if you could get back to me ASAP I would appreciate it. Thanks!
AnswerSkip the inactive pills this month, and you will avoid your period this time. Take the next pack normally and you will have your period next month as you usually do. I don't know if there is any increased risk, or how much it reduces the effectiveness. No birth control is 100%.
