What to Do If You Took the Wrong Birth Control Pill?

Question
I am on birth control pills and today I was suppose to take the first pill of the second week, but it had gotten smashed.  I opened a new packet and without thinking I took the first pill from the first week when I should have taken the first pill of the second week.  Should I continue with the first week or the second week tomorrow?  I'm assuming this also means that it won't be effective, but will I still get my period at the end of the month?

Answer
It doesn't matter what order you take the pills in.  They are arranged the way they are so that you can keep track of how many you have taken and how many are left and when your period should start.  Otherwise, they could put them in a bottle like all the rest of the pills in the world.

You can either take the first week or the second week or the third week, as long as you keep track of how many weeks and days of pills you are supposed to take.  The fourth week is different so those do matter and if you take them during the first three weeks you will get messed up.

Unless you've done something else you should get your period when you are supposed to.
