Post-Pill Period Issues: Could I Be Pregnant?
QuestionI recently married and my husband and I decided for me to start taking birth control. I was on the pill for 3 months. I had problems through the whole thing. I did not have a period once! Wondering if i might be pregnant i took a test it was negative. I recently came off the pill and I still havent had a period. We did have unprotected sex once after coming off the pill. Could I still be pregnant or is it normal not to have a period right after stopping the pill? HELP?!?!?!?

Hi Jamie,
First of all, I want to make sure that you know that I am not a medical doctor. Please also consult with your personal physician about this matter. There are some side effects and risks of the pill and you have found out some of them. It can mess up your natural cycle because of the hormones. Does the doctor know that you did not have period for 3 months when you were first on the pill? It's possible that you could be pregnant. The pill is not 100% safe and effective. I was on the pill for several years and after doing some research finally, I decided I did not think it was healthy for my body. Now I do not recommend this method of birth control. I personally don't like any birth control method that is not healthy. The only ones that don't have risks to your body are condoms and natural family planning. And the condom is not very effective.
If you are interested to know about any kinds of birth control methods, just email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com
You might want to take another pregnancy test, just to be sure. You can go to http://www.optionline.org to find a free pregnancy testing center in your area. They can also suggest when it would be best to take the test. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me. Hope this helps.
