QuestionI wanted to know if you think my situation warrants trying to get ahold of the emergency contraceptive (morning after pill).
my boyfriend and I were fooling around, but we did not have intercourse (he never entered me). we were both naked though, and im worried that some pre ejaculate may have touched me since we were grinding together.
I am on the pill, however, i was only on day 6 of the pill on friday (the month previous i went off it for a month due to the fact i was on antibiotics and was not sexually active) went back on it on May 8 (which was the first sunday after my period - i was no longer bleeding at this point but i wanted to use the sunday start method).
I know that the pill says that you should use another form of protection for the first week, so does being on the pill for 6 days offer ANY protection?
Was me being on the pill even for 6 days better than nothing? I am confused and kind of worried. Please help!!
Sarah
Answerif
- he didn't ejaculate anywhere near your vulva
- you have been taking your pill consistently (everyday in the same 2 hour window)
you could be protected against pregnancy even if there was some precum that could have gotten inside you...
however, since you had been just off the pill, i'm not sure if your cycle would have already readjusted with the pill again, and there's no way we can guarantee that no ovulation had occured or that the pill was being already effective (since you only took it for 6 days before).
this isn't a situation where i would recommend the EC pill as an emergency, it's your decision. if i was in your situation i would get it just to make sure i didn't take any risk... but again, i don't think you had a HIGH pregnancy risk (maybe -moderate-).
