I took an extra week of birth control by accident. I am scared now because I havent had a period but have been cramping and having white discharge like I usually do before my period. The only problem is that there is no period! I dont know what is going on. Did the extra week of birth control stop this months period?

Hi,

Of course you do not get your monthly withdrawal bleeding when you take hormones for an extra week! The bleeding is caused by the drop in hormone level when you either take the inactive pills (28 pack) or finish the pack (21 pack). Read the instructions in the pill pack and learn how the pill works.
