Estrostep Delayed Start: Impact on Effectiveness & Safety

Question
Hello, I am just starting estrostep for the first time in a year or so. I know that the instructions say to start them the sunday after your period starts, which was last sunday, but i started them on thursday, four days later. How will this affect the potency? The instructions say to wait a week before having unprotected sex, should I wait longer now? Thanks,
             Taylor

Answer
Hi Taylor,

Yes, you should definitley use a back up method for the rest of this month. For them to work, they MUST be taken as instructed. Since you waited that 4 days, it will increase your pregnancy risk. So either abstain from sex this month, or use a back up such as condoms, just to be safe.

Thanks and Good Luck,

Drea Jean
