Post-Birth Control Side Effects: Breast Tenderness & Hormonal Shifts

I've been on birth control for about 9 months now..and just recently have gotten off because of the rather large weight gain that i had. i have only been off for about a week..and i have experinced a lot of tenderness in my breats mainly around my nipples..and was wondering if this is a side effect of coming off birth control?

birth control pills are hormones and hormones cause many bodily reactions either when you are taking too many of them or when you are not taking as many of them.  If your body is sensitive to the hormone levels then you will have reactions.  Since it's only been a week, I think you might have to wait longer to see how things settle out, including the weight gain.  Hopefully, your body will return to the pre-BC status, but it may take a while and sometime there is a long term change.
