QuestionHi mohamed,
I took birth control after I lost my daughter, and I been off of it for about 3 years now. Im trying to conceive again. I have irregular periods, so how can I ever know if I'm pregnant? I research on this medicine called clomid it's suppose to help you get your periods to normal and help you conceive is that true? The same with Soy Isoflavones. Me and my husband don't even use condoms and we've been trying for almost 2 years. Did I miss up my ovaries by using the depo shot? I try to ask my doctor, but they said there nothing to worry about keep trying. But I don't want to have an unplanned pregnancy. Because I smoke cigarettes so I want to know when I am so I can quit immediately.
Can you please get back. I would surely appreciate it.
I just want to know how do I get pregnant with my situation like this, with the depo shot, and the irregular periods I'm only 20 I should be fertile.
Thanks for reading my question Mohamed.

AnswerDear jessie
It is a well known fact that the depot shots delay the return of ovulation, and consequently fertility. depending upon the duration u have been using the shots. This delay may go up for 2 years depending upon the duration of use.
However, if you continue to have irregular cycle after this period, it is better to start some investigations to make sure that you are ovulating. This will be in the form of serial ultrasounds and determinations of some hormone levels in your blood. If you are ovulating, then you should have no worries and continue trying. However, if you sare not ovulating, treatment in these cases are easy and most cases respond to treatment in a short period of time. I do not advise takiing clomid or any other drug without prescription.
Good Luck
