QuestionI went off Trinessa 5 weeks ago because my husband and I would like to start a family. I have been on Orthotricycln and then Trinessa for a total of 7 years. I have not yet gotten my period and but have had many side effects for the past two weeks including nausea, heartburn, cramps, lower back pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, aversions to foods (especially meat), headaches, dry eyes, sensitive nipples, etc. I was positive I was pregnant, but after numerous negative HPTs, now I'm not so sure. I'm 5 days late with my period. Before going on the pill my periods were regular and the only period symptom I've ever experienced is soreness in my lower back. Are the symptoms I'm experiencing typical when going off the pill? What are the odds that I'm pregnant?
AnswerHi Adrienne,
First of all I want you to know that I'm not a medical professional. In my opinion, there are a few side effects that you might be experiencing from going off the pill. You have had these hormones in your body for 7 years and now your body is changing and hormones are reducing. Here is a website that helps you find a free pregnancy testing center for your location.

You could call the one in your area and find out when they recommend that you get a test. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo and let me know what you decide to do.
