Ortho-Cyclen Inactive Pills & Pregnancy Risk: What to Know

Question
I'm on my 2nd month of taking ortho cyclen birth control and am wondering
if  taking the inactive birth control pills if  the risk greater for pregnancy if
sexually active? I'm on day 22 and I haven;t recieved my period, i'm not
worried that i'm pregnant, just wondering if the odds incresase because i'm
not taking a hormone pill.

thank you!
jes.

Answer
Hi Jes,

Thanks for your question. I think the risk for pregnancy is a small amount whenever you are taking the pill at all. No birth control method is 100% effective to keep you from getting pregnant when you are sexually active. Is there any way that you can abstain from sex for a period of time so you would not have to worry about these things? Also, the insert in the pills should tell you this information. I can do some more research on this question if you email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
