Questioni started taking this bc pill on the first day of my period (mon Jan 17th) my periods usually last about 6-7 days. its now (sunday, Jan 23rd) day and i dont seem like its going away. is it just the birth control?...will it be gone by this weekend?
AnswerIt's unlikely that starting the pill would prolong your period, so I suspect this was going to be a long period anyway. If it's just a little spotting, that can be from breakthrough bleeding on the pill, and that might go on and off during the first month or two. Most likely, it will all take care of itself with time, but it's hard to know exactly when.
