QuestionSo I had been taking Alesse 28 for three months before I went back to see my doctor to get another prescription for more pills. Since my cramps were still bugging me, he told me he'd put me on a different pill to try to get rid of them, so he put me on Tri-Cyclen Ortho. Now, being used to the Alesse system (white pills = sugar pills), I didn't think when I took my first pill and accidentally started on the first light blue one. I didn't notice I did this until today, my third light blue pill.
I realize there are different dosages of the hormones in each pill, so I'm expecting this to be a bad thing.
What should I do? Tomorrow do I start on the white pills, then when those are done continue finishing off the blue pills? I'm confused and worried.
Also, am I going to be safe for unprotected sex or should I wait another month?
AnswerIsis,
I am so sorry but I wasn't able to answer sooner because I was sick for a few days. What did you end up doing about the pills? I will be interested to find out. I don't usually recommend that women take birth control pills or any kind of hormonal birth control method. There are usually some risks and side effects involved.
Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com so you can update me. Hope to hear from you soon. I am interested to find out what you did in your situation.

P.S. I forgot to mention that there is really no such thing as "protected" sex. There is no method of birth control that can be 100% safe in preventing pregnancy or for that matter, sexually transmitted diseases.
