Navigating an Unexpected Pregnancy: Seeking Guidance & Support

Question
Me and my partner have been together 2 years and i have just found out that i am pregnant a few weeks back. We are unsure wether to keep it or get rid of it, due to the current situation that we are in.
He still lives with his parents and i have just moved into rented accommodation, as i am due to start university next week, but for the last year i have really wanted a family, and when i came off the pill, we both knew the risks of me doing that, but we are really confused and unsure what to do.
Please can you help me, i am going to the hospital again tomorrow for more scans, i will be about 2 months pregnant. What should we do, please can you give me some advice, and tell me how i would know if it was right to keep the baby or get rid of it?

Answer
Dear Antonia,

It seems as if you already made the decision to have a baby when you went off the pill and still had sex.  That doesn't mean you have to go through with it, of course, that's entirely up to you.

All I can tell you is what I would do in your situation, I cannot tell you what you should do.

I would never have a baby unless I were married and financially comfortable.  I waited until both of those conditions were met before I had a child, and I am very glad I did. You don't seem to have either of those conditions met.

I hope you are happy no matter which you choose.

Take care,

Deb
