Abortion Pain & Concerns: Was it Successful? - Medical Advice

Question
i recently had an first abortion after i found out that i was only a week and a
half pregnant, unfortunately it didn't work and i found out that i was still
pregnant so i went back to the doctor and did it over, this time he inserted
some mental inside of me and added a liquid but now am in so much pain
and I'm kinda scared that it still didn't work this time. Was it too early to have
an abortion or should i consult another doctor to see if the pregnancy was
actually terminated?

Answer
Hi, nia,

You should definitely have your situation checked out. You shouldn't be experiencing pain, so I am concerned about that. Please go to someone other than the doctor who has been doing these abortions on you.

It sounds like possibly the doctor inserted an IUD. Does that sound familiar? I don't know what the liquid would be. Or it could be something else altogether.

When you say you had a first abortion when you were only a week and a half pregnant, I am a little confused by that. Most women don't even have any idea they're pregnant until they miss a period, which means it would be two weeks gestational age (four weeks from last menstrual period). How did you determine you were pregnant that early? Do you know for sure that you were pregnant at that time, when you had the abortion? And when did you have the second abortion? That is to say, how long ago was it?

Yes, I would definitely go to a different doctor. Please let me know what you find out. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask, but be sure to give me more information. Please take care of yourself!
