QuestionA friend of mine is four and a half months pregnant and in a terrible situation.
She wants to get an abortion, but was told by a doctor that four and a half months is too late (in general, not just for her; she has no medical problems).
This seems unlikely to me. All of the debate about late-term abortion seemed to me to imply that there could be abortions in the seventh or eighth mont.
Is it true that it is difficult to get an abortion at four and a half months? Won't abortion clinics do them?
Many thanks,
Betty
AnswerBetty,
Fewer clinics do late term; some do. Only the places themselves could tell you whether or not they do it.
Your friend may choose to read about what is going on inside her body at this point. If she would like to, here is a website on fetal development in the second trimester: http://www.wpclinic.org/parenting/fetal-development/second-trimester/
There is also a number which you can call 24-7 with questions. (It is run by a non-abortion group, just so you know that beforehand.) :) 1-800-395-help ( or 1-800-395-4357)
I hope you all turn out okay. It sounds like the stress is really intense right now.
God bless, and if I missed anything, let me know. :)
