Ethical Considerations of Stem Cell Research & Abortion Experiences
QuestionMaria, I first would like to say that although the question may be a sensitive one, that I would really appreciate your honest opinion. My question is: Because you have experienced getting an abortion, would you personally donate your babies fetus to science for stem cell research? The question is a little crazy, I know. I am doing my English research paper on stem cell research and I am asking experts in different fields pertaining to my topic, some questions for field research. I thank you for your time and opinion. I wish the best for you, and may God bless.
Sincerely,

AnswerHi Mike,
This has been by far the most interesting question I recieved. I am happy to help. I personally would not donate the fetus for research because in my eyes it is an extension of me and personally I would have liked to have buried my child. After the abortion I was quite concerned what they did with the fetus after and I was told that it just goes into a toxic waste bin but I don't believe that. After all Science makes great use of fetal tissue in immunization for example. On the other hand.. If I were to have a baby now I would definitely donate the umbilical cord blood for research. Feel free to ask any more questions if this isn't sufficient enough and All the Best with your Paper.
Regards
Maria
