Understanding Abortion Procedures: RU-486 & D&C Explained
QuestionWhat happens during an abortion? What do they do??
AnswerIt really depends on what type of abortion you get. There are a couple different ones.
RU-486 is an abortion pill. You take the first dose at the doctor office or clinic then they send you home with the 2nd dose. After the 2nd dose you pretty much have a voluntary miscarriage. It is a miscarriage only you brought it on by yourself through the pills.
D&C is where they actually dialate you and pull the fetus out using tongs/vacuum/scraper. They will dialate you using the same drug used to dialate women in labor. (normally pitocin) then they use a special tool to scrape the inside of your uterus to make sure you get all of the tissue and other stuff off. That is when they use the vacuum. It cleans up all of the tissue that is scraped. It also cleans up the actual fetus of the unborn child.
I would recommend going to your local Planned Parenthood to get information regarding this subject matter. You can also go to the planned parenthood website and get information ont he different types of abortion. Good Luck!
