Question"I am 23 years old and had been pregnant for 5 weeks and 5 days.Upon consultation with the doctor for termination, the doctor gave me MTPill to take one orally and come after 48 hours for the other dose to take vaginally. After taking the first dose of mtpill, i started bleeding heavily with pieces coming out at intervals and a lot of pain. I didn't feel like taking the second dose and also didn't feel good to visit the doctor again. my bleeding stopped after 12 days and again started after 3 days but its just spotting right now and a lot of pain in legs.
I want to know that is my termination complete? will there be any sort of complications now or in the near future? my doctor also suggested me that at the end i should get an ultrasound done and check if there are any remnants left behind. should i get an ultrasound done?
PLEASE GUIDE ME AS TO WHAT I SHOULD DO NOW?"
AnswerHi, Sunita,
You are very lucky you didn't take the dose vaginally. I have information that it can lead to toxic shock syndrome and death within hours. I don't know how common this is, but if I were a doctor, I sure wouldn't take the chance. To use that medication at all means that the doctor is using it off label. The original manufacturer says it should not be used in pregnant women at all.

By all means, have yourself checked, and have an ultrasound. I don't know if everything is complete, and only a doctor can tell. The pain in your legs worries me, so be sure and have this done as soon as possible, like in the next day or two. Here is a page on the second pill:
Please let me know how you are doing. Stay safe!
