QuestionQUESTION: I am 6 weeks pregnant and have taken one 200mg of MTpill today(03/05/2008) at 4:30pm and has been asked to take one misoprostol 200mg 48 hrs latter and within next 24hrs another 200mg misoprostol orally. Is this enough for abortion and can there be any complication or side effects latter.......i am NOT sure with the dose...I AM VERY MUCH WORRIED...PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT IMMEDIATELY!!

I am gathering from what you said that you are supposed to use a Misoprostol in your vagina. DON'T DO IT. It is very dangerous; it can cause toxic shock syndrome, which can kill you within hours. Also, please be aware that the manufacturer of Misoprostol said it should NOT be used during pregnancy, so you will be using it off label. That means the manufacturer expects there to be problems with the way it's being used.
The long term effects of medical abortion are not known. But they do know that complications do happen.
If you change your mind, go to a doctor who will give you progesterone throughout your pregnancy.
You are at the edge of the effectiveness of medical abortion. Medical abortion only works up to 49 days, and 6 weeks is 42 days. The closer to the limit you get, the more likely it is to fail. If it fails, surgical abortion will be necessary (unless you decide to try to save your baby).

I have read the web site. There must be something about the site that concerns you, and you will have to tell me what it is. Obviously, taking such things is risky. And equally obviously, it's your own risk. I think you would be wise to consult a doctor. You can ask the questions that are on your mind.
At this point, since you have already taken the MTpill, it seems you have only two options: either follow through, and if necessary, get a surgical abortion, or go to a doctor who will give you progesterone throughout your pregnancy to try to have a healthy child. This has been done. But these pills are fairly effective, so there is no guarantee this would work.

QUESTION: i have decided to continue with abortion. The problem with me is that i am only a student,unmaried and cant go to doctor for abortion..i have no other way other than abortion that too secretly. i got the medicines from medical store. i wanted to know that the doze i hav taken (which is mentioned in previous message) is proper or not. Self-medicating is dangerous. You should go to a doctor right away. There is nothing normal about trying to take these powerful medicines to cause an abortion. Don't think you can be guaranteed of privacy. If you have any kind of complications, it might not stay private. And you will know you did it, and this could eventually lead to it becoming known, depending on how you react emotionally. I can't tell you whether having a headache is "normal" or not. Only a doctor could answer that question. Please go to a doctor right away. I can't magically fix your problem. I'll be praying for you. I will still be here if you need to talk.
