Post-Aspiration Abortion Pain & Recovery: What to Expect

Question
I had an aspiration termination on 22nd May and had conceived on the 26th April. Other then one nickel sized blood spot an hour after the procedure, I had absolutely no bleeding at all after the abortion or in the weeks to follow.  Yesterday 25th June I had agonising cramps and figured my periods were making an appearance.  After a full day of cramps and contractions and feeling faint and nauseus I only had one small spot of blood.  Today I was in the same agony with cramps but also felt like knives were being pushed into my stomach - again no bleeding.  Went back to Docs who did a sonnogram and said it was most unusual but my uterus is completely empty with no sign of a period.  Gave me anitbiotics and painkillers and told me to find a gyno if pain is still there in a week.  I still have this horrible pain and am scared that something major is wrong.  I really hope that you can please give me some guidance or advice.

Answer
Hi Amanda,

Thanks for your question. I hope you are feeling better and found out what is the problem. I'm not a doctor so if you aren't satisfied with the doctor's opinion, that you will look for another doctor to help you. I can't really tell you what is happening but there are many side effects after an abortion. Please let me know what happens.

I'm concerned about you and would really like you to email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and update me. Put ALLEXPERTS in the subject line.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
