on the 15th of march i took mifepristone, followed two days later by vaginal misoprostol at four hourly intervals. i was 53days pregnant and i am slightly worried as to whether the abortion was complete or not due to how little i have bled. after having inserted the first tablet (at half past 8 in the morning) i started bleeding within a couple of hours, several hours later several blood clots just flopped out of my vagina it was a bit like when your water breaks is a good way to describe it. this happened twice. i continued to use the last 2 tablets of misoprostol however only had very slight bleeding after this and 2-3days later at the most no bleeding whatsoever. please help me. des this mean that the abortion is incomplete? will i need to take more misoprostol? i know i should go to the doctors but i am very ashamed of myself i have had two abortions already previous to this both times i bled for 2-3 weeks. another reason i dont want to go to the doctor is because i stupidly bought the pills of the internet, please help me i feel so stupid and so scared

Please know that I am not a doctor. I am a person who has done a lot of medical research and talked to a lot of women.
You shouldn't have taken misoprostol in the first place! This regiment is unlikely to do anything; you are too far along. Putting misoprostol in your vagina can cause toxic shock syndrome, and that can cause death within hours. It's caused by Clostridium sordellii. You need to have the doctor check for Clostridium sordellii IMMEDIATELY. The manufacturer says a pregnant woman should NEVER take misoprostol. Mifepristone isn't harmless, either. It's a steroid, and it will disrupt your body's chemical balance.
When you buy drugs off the internet, there's no telling what you are actually getting. It is always dangerous to self-prescribe with such powerful medications. People who would sell you such things are unscrupulous; providing an abortion is unethical. Take the tablets you have left and show them to the doctor.
There is also a danger you could start bleeding profusely. Some women bleed to death. Try to get some red hot peppers into your body. You can get them either in food, or as a supplement called cayenne. Make sure you get some regularly. If you do start to bleed heavily, seek immediate medical attention. There is a very good chance you are still pregnant, and the baby is fine. PLEASE don't mess with it. Abortion is dangerous and can cause all kinds of problems. You have to stop doing this sometime. This is your third attempt. Each time, you body gets more and more damaged. These things can even cause birth defects in your future children. When a woman gets into a cycle like this, there are only three ways to put a stop to it: 1. stop having sex 2. become unable to conceive a child or 3. carry a child to term.

QUESTION: too far along? at the time of taking misoprostol i was less than 8weeks? i have had this form of medical abortion before at a clinic when i was at a similiar stage in the pregnancy, mifepristone is administered to stop the baby from further developing and then 2days later i was given misoprostol to expel the pregnancy. the only differences this time are that i self administered the tablets after doing much research before hand, and that the misoprostol tablets were to be taken vaginally and not orally. how can the feoutus be fine after i lost all that blood not long after taking the second misoprostol? i do not want to keep the child i am fully aware of possible birth defects that could be wrong with it from me taking this medication, but thankyou very much for your advice and i will seek medical attention

Yes, too far along. The pills don't always work at this point. You may have been "lucky" the first time.
Taking the pills vaginally is a threat to your life. It isn't even legal to do that in the United States. This can cause toxic shock syndrome. I have already mentioned this. If your research didn't reveal this danger, then you didn't get all the facts you deserve. You should also have learned from your research that the manufacturer of misoprostol says a pregnant woman should never take it. When women take it, it's off label, and if someone gave it to them, they have engaged in malpractice or negligence.
If the baby had already started to make his or her own progesterone, then cutting off the supply of progesterone with mifepristone won't make any difference. This is why your baby may be fine. Since abortion is so dangerous, and because it could kill you or cause serious harm to yourself or your future children, it would be wiser to wait and see if your baby is OK. If your baby is OK, then in the interest of SELF-preservation, you should leave things alone. Yes, I am concerned about the baby. But my main goal in answering questions here is to help women protect THEMSELVES. There are just too many women who are being seriously hurt by abortion. I get questions here all the time from women who have been hurt. I'm not even sure some of them survived, because they were bleeding heavily, and the pills cause some women to bleed to death.

QUESTION: thankyou again for your speedy response, but what about the bleeding? if it wasnt an induced miscarriage then what was it? there was quite a lot of blood that came out with several clots, what could this have been???

The problem is that you were too far along. Once the baby starts to make his or her own progesterone, cutting off the supply will not deprive the baby of nutrition. The bleeding and clots are just that: bleeding and clots. You should have observed a recognizable form, not just clots. I don't know whether you had a completed abortion or not. What I am telling you is that you shouldn't do any more damage to your body. It could be fatal next time. So if it turns out this didn't produce the results you were looking for, please don't hurt yourself any more. Go to a decent doctor who can advise you on what to do, and what he will do. Don't go to someone who thinks abortion is acceptable. It isn't. Abortion is harmful to women, and doctors pledge themselves to do no harm. If they break that pledge and help you harm yourself, then they are no longer a doctor and shouldn't be trusted. Abortion ALWAYS harms the mother's body. It has to. Our bodies were designed to protect our children, and overcoming that to harm our children also harms us.
This is why I said you shouldn't do any more to yourself. Since you have said you don't want your baby, it is much safer for you to have the baby and put him or her up for adoption. When people tell you abortion won't hurt you, they are either ignorant or lying. Anybody who has been to medical school knows good and well that abortion is harmful, and such a person would be defrauding you to say otherwise.
I know a lot of people will tell you what you want to hear, but I'm not one of them. I sincerely hope you are fine and that the damage will be minimized. Regardless, you have greatly increased your chances of getting breast cancer. Other than that, nobody really knows what the long term consequences of pill abortion are.
