i began having severe abdominal cramps and also cramps on my left side near the ovaries, with no bleeding, three weeks after a medical abortion (at 16 weeks). my doctor did an ultrasound, said everything was clean, but doesnt know the reason for this pain. it's been five weeks since the abortion, two weeks since the pain started. the pain has become less severe since i've had my period (or what seemed like a period) a few days ago, but doesnt seem to go away. is this normal? do you know what it might be?

A medical abortion at sixteen weeks is rare. I do not have much experience with that.
Take care about interpreting bloodloss, as after an abortion this can be very irregular.
I hope the pain will disappear shortly.
