Post-D&C Recovery: What to Expect After a Dilation and Curettage

Hi there,
I just had a D&C abortion 2 days ago and the day of the abortion i bleed only for a few hours very slightly it that normal and now 2 days after i started bleeding but very lightly it that normal and i dont have severe pain just annoying pain under my stomach area not my abdominal area is that normal and how long does the soreness last after the abortion

Dear Mitchell,
I have heard of discomfort from a D&C lasting for days to a week.  The main thing to be aware of is whether the pain is getting worse.  Pain that increases, does not respond to common over the counter medications (like ibuprofen 600mg or 800 mg), or hurts when you jump is not normal.  Low level constant pain is normal, but it should be getting better in a few days.
