Understanding Post-Abortion Endometrial Thickness: When is a D&C Necessary?

Hi.. I have medical abortion 3 weeks ago... 2 days after i had an ultrasound which says that i no longer have gestational sac.. I recently have another ultrasound and my doctor told me that indeed i already miscarried (i didnt tell her i had abortion instead..my problem now is she is asking me to have a d&c since my endometrium lining is still thick and she wants to clean it since i have still on and off spotting until now.. Im wondering if it is really necessary because in the first place she wasnt aware that i did medical abortion.. Pls advice me..

No it is not necessary.  You can repeat a dose of the Misoprostol which is recommended for miscarriage management.  This is a good reference
