QuestionHello Pat G,
On December 16 I had an abortion. exactly 30 days to the day on Jan 13 me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex he came inside me. earlier in the day i had pains in my stomach the kind i usually get when I'm ovulating i continued to have the cramps the next day as well. my cycle is extremely precise i can set a clock to it, but being that i have not had my period yet i don't know where i stand. i read that you can get pregnant as soon as two weeks but that 80% ovulate 3-6 weeks after so i don't know what to think. please tell me what is the likely hood that I'm pregnant. also the day after i took a ovulation test the line seemed to be just as dark 12 hours later took it again same affect, 36 hours later was definitely negative.
AnswerHello, Tammy,
I have no way of knowing over the internet if you are pregnant or not.
Please know that "protection" doesn't work anyway. If you continue to have sex with your boyfriend, you will continue to have the fear of pregnancy. You really deserve better. He should be seeking to protect you from such terrible risks. Have a talk with him. Is he willing to respect your body and protect you in the future? If not, seriously consider finding someone else.
Did you notice any slippery, clear mucus the day you had sex? This would be before. Now that you have had an abortion, all bets are off about whether your cycle is regular or not. Abortion disrupts a woman's hormones seriously.
You didn't tell me anything about what kind of abortion you had or how it went. That would be helpful.
You can start testing for pregnancy about 21 days after you had sex. By then, it should be able to detect a new pregnancy, and most likely the hormones from your other pregnancy will be gone.
If you are pregnant, please do not have another abortion. Abortion is deadly. It can kill you or seriously harm you, or your future children. I can give you details if you want to know about it. From the abortion you already had, you are already at risk of getting a particularly deadly form of breast cancer, or auto-immune disease such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Abortion also causes serious emotional disturbances in some women. You should be taking Vitamin D3 for the rest of your life, to help protect from breast cancer. Also make sure you get some sun on bare skin. Start with 5000IU daily. You will need your blood tested to make sure you aren't getting too much. Also, get a regular thermogram. Mammograms can cause or spread breast cancer, so you should not have one.
Another thing you should consider before deciding to have an abortion is whether you have the money to pay for serious medical complications. You might need it.
There is help available to you if you are pregnant. There are organizations all over the United States that will help you with whatever problems you are facing. They also offer post-abortion counseling if you need it. You can find one near you by going to this web site:
