Post-Abortion Symptoms: Understanding Potential Causes & What's Normal
QuestionI had an abortion on nov29th and had a litle bit of bleeding and cramping for a few days afterwards. Nothing else since, on the good side my sore tender breasts started to feel normal again, i didnt feel nauseous at all bottom line i didnt feel pregnant. I had sex with my partner about a week after the first couple times we use protections and then there was a couple we just got caught up and used the pull out method. Well now i feel hungry all the time, light headed and tired and the other day i was sitting at the hairdressers and got really dizzy, hot and shaky after a few moments it passed .... It has now been 4 weeks and a few days since the procedure. PLEASE PLEASE help me could i be pregnant again and what should i do ??
AnswerDear Britt,
It is possible that you got pregnant again. The only way to know is to check a pregnancy test at least a week after the time you had sex that you are concerned about. If you are pregnant again, it is 100% safe to end the pregnancy or continue it. You are not alone in this situation; many women have less than fully protected sex the month after an abortion, and some get pregnant. It might be time to evaluate a better method of birth control.
I hope this is helpful,
Doctor Joan
