QuestionQUESTION: I had a surgical abortion in February 2012 and bled for 3 days few days after the procedure. I saw my period six weeks later and also saw another period 5 weeks after the first. After the second period in May, I have not seen my period till 14/08 when i later saw some stains of blood. I was thinking I was pregnant again because I was having high temperature, constant headaches, pimples on my face, whitish discharge, painful nipples, heavy breasts and other pregnancy symptoms. But pregnancy tests (blood) gave a negative result. Am so scared because my period has never stayed this long. I have never been on contraceptive so i do not think of any except pregnancy. Please I need help especially as my left lower abdomen feels heavy as if there is a baby growing there. But I started bleeding 14/08 till now, so could be the problem?

Headaches, fever, whitish discharge, and possibly painful nipples could be signs of infection. Whitish discharge can also indicate you are not currently fertile. It could also mean there is an infection there. According to what you have said, you have been bleeding for a little over a day.

QUESTION: Thank you so much for your findings. I saw a gynecologist and he asked for a pelvic scan to be done. The scan result shows an echo-free (40X40mm) above the fundus of uterus (uterine fundal cyst). Could that be the cause of the amenorrhea? Although other tests were also carried out but the results are not out yet. Thanks so much for your timely response, i really do appreciate.
