QuestionI have been on birth control for 2 years. I have gotten my period regularly and had no problems. Two weeks ago I got my period, on schedule. Then a week later I got cramps again and what seemed like a period. It only lasted that night and into the next morning. I have had cramps and strange feelings since then (about a week). I have also been very tired and have a yellowish discharge almost everyday. I just feel off. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?
AnswerHi Robin :)
There are 2 possible causes that come to mind ..
First one, is that you are having a hormonal imbalance. Being on the pill, its highly effective to prevent pregnancy. But sometimes hormones will go off balance, causing bleeds, spotting, cramping and so on. Also, if you missed a pill, that will also cause all of the above as well.
Now, you could also be coming down with an illness. Perhaps a cold, or flue. That would do it as well. Physical stress, and fatique will delay, and also bring on periods and spotting.
I'm thinking this is more of a hormonal issue. Usually, is straightens itself out, especially if your on the pill. But if it doesnt ..it can be easily rectified just be changing the dosage in pills as well.
If it continues, I think seeing your doctor about this, would be a good idea, and getting blood work done to evaulate hormonal levels might be in order.
Hope this answers your question, and thanks for writing :)
