Best Gel Nail Salons in Pacifica, CA: Find Trusted Professionals

Question
Hello,

I live in Pacifica, CA, I recently started getting gel nails, okay so I thought that they were gel nails, after reading this board I now know I got scammed.

Is there any way that you could refer me to a salon that does real gel nails.  I called several of the salons and asked them if they did uv gel nails, then I asked them if they used powder during the process, they all said yes.

I can't believe that these are all nss.

Is there a website that lists good nail salons?

Answer
Hi Maria!

I'm glad to hear that you've learned of the dangers posed to society by many NSS salons.  Most of the general population is completely unaware.
However, I do regret that I am unable to refer you to a technician.  The reason being is that A) I reside in Canada   B)there is no 'registry' to speak of to find a 'good' technician.

Even some licensed technicians using brand name products are 'bad' technicians.

Also, why do you want UV Gel?  Are you aware that UV Gel & standard Liquid & Powder Acrylic are BOTH acrylic?  The only differences are  A) the gel is pre-prepared while the standard L&P is prepared right before application   B) the method of application.
Neither is more damaging to the natural nail than the other (this is a myth perpetuated by the NSS to get people to spend more).  While I do have my reasons as to why "I" prefer UV Gel, it is not necessarily a 'better' product.  They are both equal with their own pros and cons.

Having said that, I CAN however refer you to an american message forum that is for Nail technicians.  I am SURE that on that forum, you should be able to find either A)an appropriate technician   or B)they can refer you to one or to a way of locating one.
What you can do is log on to the site.. watch the message boards for a few days, and see which members of the board seem to earn the most respect and appear to be the most knowledgeable, etc..  Then, private message the member of your choice and explain your dilemma. OR post a thread with your request for a tech in your area, and check the profiles of those that reply to your thread.
the site is beautytech.com

I wish you the best of luck and am once again sorry that I was unable to assist you.
Take care
Victoria
