Nail Polish Safety: Potential Risks and Concerns

I just want to ask u whether nailpolishes are really harmful or not? if yes please give me the details of what harmful effect it causesor it can cause in future? i will be really obliged if you answer me at the earliest.thanking you.

Hi Ritika,

There has been some discussion whether DBP ( Dibuthyl Phantalate) would be harmfull for preganant women but no evidence has been scientifically proven as far as I know. However because of the hype around it for example China Glaze nail polish has removed the DBP and marked the bottles with "DBP free" Needless to say that you always need to use a base coat to prevent the color of the nailpolish ( especially the darker ones) to penetrate into the nail plate. Always buy a well known brand made either in Europe or the USA for they are very restricted in the manufacturing process.
