QuestionHi Victoria,
Thanks for all the advice provided on the board, I've also checked out your personal page; it's great that you're providing all this information free of charge to all of us newbies!
My question for you is this - I just had my nails done with the Biosculpture UV Gel, and I wanted to know if I could use a regular nail polish on top of my gel nails should I want to wear a different colour for a day. Can I just put it on, and when I want to take it off, use a non-acetone nail polish remover? Should I also put a clear coat of nail polish on afterwards to keep up the shiny finish?
Also, the woman that did my nails left a millimetre of space between my cuticles and where the gel starts at the base of my nail. Is this normal?
Thanks again!
AnswerHi Samantha,
You are MOST welcome. I'm glad to be of help and to offer information so that people can better understand enhancements and the business itself.
Now, to your questions: YES you can apply nail polish over any UV Gel and/or Acrylic system if you want to change things up a bit. And YES, you can simply remove the polish afterward with Non-acetone remover. You 'can' put a coat of clear if you like, but it's not necessary. It depends on the polish. NOTE: polish will NEVER chip away from UV Gel. So, you don't need to the topcoat to 'seal it' in. Only to add shine.
YES, it's absolutely a MUST that there be an itty-bitty space between the uv gel (or acrylic as the case may be) and your cuticle. IF it were to touch your skin, the natural oils in your skin would cause the product to lift as it wouldnt' be cleanly adhered to your nail plate.
So, there must always be a space.
It is also to protect you, as these products are not intended to touch the skin. HOWEVER, if your tech is good enough, he/she can file the product flush in that area so that you don't see a line/bump where product meets the nail plate (Unless you've applied gloss).
I hope this helps.
Best regards and feel free to contact me again.
