Artificial Nails After Toenail Removal: Safety & Longevity

Question
Hi, I read that once you have a toe nail removed you shouldn't leave an artificial nail on longer than one day. Is this true? I would like to have artificial nails put on 5 toes where the toe nail has been removed, but would like to leave them on longer than one day. Can you give me some help?

Answer
Good Day Sharon~

Where did you hear this tale about leaving toe enhancements on for 1 day?? why would a customer pay $50.00 to have this service and for it to last 1 day?? NO sweetie, They last longer and alot of times, much longer than the gel or acrylic nails on the hands! Due to the fact that are hands are always active, in chemicals and constantly in use :)

Gel Toes is the exact application except I personally do not use a tip for the toes when there is no nail plate as the tip has to bond to the plate and if your tow nail has been surgically or reoved from traauma then there is nothing for the gel or acrylic to adhere to.

when a nail tech applied gel directly onto the plate or in the case where the nail has been rmeoved then its placed onto teh nail bed, it is then called a gel ovelay, without or with a tip. A tip or plastic nail tip does not work well at all when there is no plate for it to bond to, this is a very important step a tech has to take when applying gel/acrylic nails.

What I would suggest is have both your bog toe nails done first 1 with a tip and 1 without a tip, then you will experience which you like the best and long before sandles~ Also, some people prefer the acrylic than the gels as they last longer and vice versa, some gels last longer than acrylic on others, it depends on many factors.

Are you located in New Brunswick? If so, please contact me and I will give you a free tow nail enhancement service on both ofyour big toes so you can see and experience which lasts longer and which you like better. When you get gel toes normally the gel is applied just over the nail plate, as i stated above. But those whom have lost all thier plates on their toes may wish a nail on the bed, normally it does not last when there is no plate to adhere the tip to. But again it depends on how much of the nail has been removed, whole or partial and other factors such as excerise, what type of sports, how long you are on your feet per day etc.

If you are in New Brunswick Canada please do email me at spa_mobile@yahoo.ca so we can chat and set you your free trial service ok hon.
