Understanding the French Manicure: Pink & White Nail Polish

Question
I would like my nails polished pink first...
and then I would like the tips polished white
as with a regular french manicure. Does this
process have a certain name. My salon artists
are from Asia and there is a language problem.
Thank You

Answer
Well That is not how it is done. First you paint on the white and go back and correct the line to be perfect, then you add the pink polish and then a top coat. This is called French. If you ask any nail tech for french they should know what your talking about. Some times the Asians call this an "American French Tip". And that just means that you want pink polish not just clear.

To be honest with you, I dont think you should be having your nails done by anybody who cannot speak english. You should be able to  communicate with your nail technician. There are a lot of things to be disscussed and without proper communication I dont see how you can get a proper manicure. And please be carefull for your safty and sanitation. Are they disinfecting all tools properly? Do you get a brand new file every single time? Do you soak your foot in a whirl pool tub with dirty jets? These things are important! And if you can't even speak with your nail tech how can you ask her if these things are being done?
