Decoding Silver Markings: Understanding 925 & Kite Shapes

Question
I have a bracelet, sterling silver 925, under the 925 is a diamond/kite shape indented, what does this mean?

Answer
Hello There,

You've got me stumped.
Yes 925 means sterling silver, but the kite usually refers to platinum....
The only other similarity is imported Finnish metal ware, but I think you'd see some detail in the diamond.
So I'm guessing that it must be the makers mark rather than an assay mark.
Sorry I cant help you more.
It's always difficult without seeing the piece.

Cheers, P
