Can You Melt Sterling Silver to Fill Wood Etchings? - Practical Solutions

I have a picture frame project I am doing.  I have a pattern that will be etched into the wood (etching will be about 1/16"th deep and about 1/16"th wide).  What I want to know is, if it is possible to melt sterling silver wire a put in these 'grooves' in the wood?  By the way, I have no special tools for anything like that, so I would have to use 'household' type things.  Spoon maybe?  Suggestions?

Simple answer in No you cant melt it into the space....melting point is around 1000C which will seriously burn te wood.

You could however use some foil which you should be able to get from Art supply or book suply stores....
