QuestionWe have a sterling silver tea set that was handed down in the family and brothers house burnt. Can you tell us any way to clean it? It has blue and dark spots all over it, Some of the dark grey saute has been washed off, however not even shiny. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
AnswerGreetings,
If it is in fact silver then it should be possible to polish it or have it polished by a jeweller/silversmith.
If it's not silver then it will have to be re-plated.
First of all you could trying 'Silvo' - the age old remedy.
If this doesn't work, then unfortunately the only solution will be to have it polished on a polishing machine- by someone who knows what they're doing./
Apologies for the delay. Its' been a madhouse since the break.
Good luck and cheers, P
*Take care with the pot as the heat probably softenned it and it could be easily mal-formed.
