QuestionI recently asked Peter, but you may be able to answer this as well.
I learned using acetylene gas and am looking to have my own space in the garage at home.
I found a local supplier and found that they have many options. I am wondering what is a good tanks size to start out with...and what exactly cga is. I have found that size "B" is the ideal for a jeweler at home...However, I am wondering what else I should know when I go in to buy items. i.e. I know I am buying a tank, but what about the hoses, tips, etc.? thanks!
AnswerHi Katie,
To start I will suggest you not to use Acetylene gas to work with jewelry, it is too dirty and dangerous. It is better to use PROPANE GAS or Natural gas, you can use the tank from the BBQ and just get the extension to your needs, I will recommend to buy the MINI TORCH SET, it comes with different tips for your convenience.
Hope it helps,
