Silver Solder Melting Temperatures for Jewelry Repair

Question
Hi

what is the melting temperature of silver solder which is holding components in a 10k bracelets?

Thanks,
Henry Rancourt

Answer
Henry Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner my email has been down.  10k is typically for Gold not silver. There are many different temperatures of Silver and white gold solder. It depends upon which one you use. Easy flow Gold solder melts around 1150F and hard Gold melts around 1450F depending upon the manufacture The white gold easy is between 1230f and 1620f for the hard The silver solder is similar at 1350f-1475F
Again 10 k Bracelets usually use gold not silver solder however most gold solder will have some silver in it. especially if it is white.
I hope this answers your question.
