QuestionI know that heat is used to separate the impurities from gold. My question is, if the heat keeps rising, will it destroy the gold? In other words, is there a known temperature that will destroy pure gold and render it worthless?

The boiling point of gold is 5173 degrees F.
However as Einstein pointed out Matter isn't created or destroyed, it just changes states. So if you trap the Gold vapor it isn't destroyed just changed to a gas. you might want to read more at Wikipedia about gold.:
