Gold Refining Solutions for CNC Manufacturing: Aqua Regia & Continuous Casting

Question
my company is manufacturing cnc make gold bangles and rings we are having lot of scrap in form of gold and some what of sand dust my factory is located in industrial area so we are having lot of dust in form of iron particals this partical some what mix whith our sand dust so we accumulate this dust in different contanior for this sand how we can refinend through aqua regia and also we do continous casting so sometimes gold is been melted with iron rod from this iron rod how can we refinied the gold please let me know the following steps  thanking you   mayur

Answer
Hello Mayur,
Though this question  is  very detailed I will try to help however  i cannot answer it in the small amount of time i have today/  at the moment. It is also very technical. I do consulting  work in this field and  I estimate that  preparing  a virtual technical manual will take me about 6 hours to type out. I also need some  further details if I am to do this for your company and  to know the volume of  manufacturing that  goes on  in the building in , say , a weeks time:
1)are the particles  generated from WITHIN your factory, or do you have dust collection equipment installed in the  refining room?
2)Do you have dust collection equipment  installed in the  CNC/casting room?- are the rooms separated?
3)are the rooms  all in one  large space, and do you have a budget that allows for separating the spaces?
4)Have you ever used aqua regia before? If so  you know that all the  alloy in the material, iron and  silver will be lost  when  placed in the  nitric acid.
5)What size nitric acid  tanks  do you have on hand and  how much scrap would say is generated in a week?
I need all these answers before I can  give you a detailed  answer that will actually separate out the  refining and  the environmental cleaning steps. One cannot happen  with any degree of accuracy without the other- For example if you have iron dust in the atmosphere inside  your milling room then  it is tracked into the  refining room  you are guaranteed to  have an impure  casting when you pour then  roll out the ingots to useable stock. You will get  material ( gold) that  will split and  fracture  upon rolling it out no matter how  much annealing  is  put to it.
I also  require that  to do this job, you  give me at least 5 days. If that is acceptable, I will agree to help out. You can also  go to the  archives at ganoksin.com, and search there for  answers to  similar questions  regarding refining of gold using aqua regia and other related topics, also MAKE.com has ways to set up your own  home made dust collectors which you can then refine in a large furnace and reclaim the scrap that can be further refined into usable material.A dust collector is essential if there is ferrous metal in the building, or if you have a dirt floor, or and that  are tracked into the  facility.
If you company would like me to  come there to consult on the matter and set up a clean facility that maximizes  the scrap usage and minimizes the waste, and contaminants in the  facility I will be happy to  do so. You can  contact me out of this forum,at  vieuxcarrejewelers@gmail.com, to discuss  doing this in person or  by email or  net meeting- for which I would do a virtual tour of the facility and  produce a  detailed report and  give you the technical methods  for  reclamation, scrap refining and re-use and  setting up a clean room in which to  do these operations  that eliminate ferrous metal and  other contaminants, using  equipment on hand ( such as vacuum cleaners, dust collectors, and  simple parts) that  can  be  in place quickly and will save your  company  much money in  casting grain and  reuse of  milled  waste that can be recollected and refined simply with  nitric acid and  ammonium sulphate ( sal mmoniac can be added to  powdered charcoal and  added to the crucible  in the melting process that helps to remove any left over impurities from the molten metal  with an implement such as a graphite rod) in the basic processing of scrap to increase the return on  your investment of gold in its raw form.I can also recommend some industrial equipment that may be of use and the  cheapest sources of  buying it that  will help  not only  clean the product  but make for a healthier environment for the companies employees whose health should be  of more importance than the  reclamation of the gold!
So if you want  my help you must allow at least 5 days for me to prepare a report, after I receive your answers to the above basic questions, and if you  want  my services  contact me off this forum  for a much more detailed and designed for your specific location  answer and technical brief to implement as a managerial or executive  programme for operations and  resources  management. It can be done without my traveling to India, or wherever your location is- and over the internet. But I will need more time and   some allowances that are not in place  on allexperts.com to do so such as the  3 day limit they  impose on  experts answering questions.
I do hope to  hear from you, Ari
